Nineteenth century Atlantans were all too
familiar with death and disease. This tour traces the evolution
from the Cherokee Indians' "medicine house" to the
establishment of the Atlanta Medical College during the time
when the discovery of germ theory and medical anesthesia coexisted
with the use of leeches, water cures and quack medicine.
