Goddard Chapel at Grady Hospital
Saturday March, 20 2010 2:00 PM

Experience the creation and restoration of an architectural landmark deep within Grady Memorial Hospital with a visit to the Goddard Memorial Chapel that was designed in 1958 by Philip Trammel Shutze and made possible by Mary Goddard in memory of her husband John Newton Goddard, a beloved Atlanta businessman and philanthropist. In 2008, the Goddard family again stepped forward along with the Grady Health System’s Foundation and the John H. and Wilhelmina D. Harland Foundation to fund the chapel’s restoration. Architect Clay Ulmer and designers Steve Markey and Jonathan LaCrosse helped ensure that the Chapel was properly restored; Mark Palmer graciously donated materials and labor.
